Charles Cohen.

Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Data World 1, LLC. Sole named inventor on USPTO Patent Application 19/644,477.

Charles Cohen is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Data World 1, LLC and the sole named inventor on USPTO Patent Application 19/644,477, Cryptographic Intent-Bound Authentication System for Action Authorization (priority date September 30, 2025; filed April 10, 2026).

A senior global executive with more than thirty years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, and complex cross-border transactions, Mr. Cohen is widely recognized for his leadership at SkyPower Global, one of the world’s leading utility-scale solar developers. Over nearly two decades at SkyPower he served as Chief Commercial Officer, Strategy & Development — effectively the company’s number two executive and a core member of the senior leadership team — leading global commercial strategy, development, and execution across more than thirty jurisdictions.

In that capacity, Mr. Cohen structured and negotiated multi-billion-dollar Power Purchase Agreements with sovereign governments, national utilities, and institutional partners. He contributed directly to a global pipeline exceeding twenty-five gigawatts of utility-scale solar projects across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Selected sovereign-scale mandates include landmark PPA execution with the Republic of Uzbekistan (1,000 MW; the first solar PPA and largest single foreign direct investment in the country’s history), the Republic of Kenya (1,000 MW; a USD $2.2 billion agreement signed with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum), the Arab Republic of Egypt (3,000 MW), the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (2,000 MW; a USD $4.3 billion programme announced at the 70th UN General Assembly), Telangana State in India (200 MW), and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal (600 MW).

His expertise spans the full life cycle of large-scale infrastructure — origination, head-of-state and ministerial engagement, consortium formation, project finance, and execution. He has built and led international consortiums comprising tier-one EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, multilateral lenders (World Bank Group, IFC, ADB, AfDB), export credit agencies, and institutional investors; and was selected as global partner of China Huayang Economic and Trade Group (a state-owned entity under CCPIT) for co-development of utility-scale solar projects aligned with the Belt and Road Initiative. He has also been a strategic partner to the Climate Bonds Initiative, mobilizing institutional bond capital toward climate-aligned infrastructure financing.

In parallel with his energy work, Mr. Cohen is the founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of TransCash — a fintech platform built around prepaid financial solutions (TransCash MasterCard® and Visa© Reloadable Prepaid Cards), supported by a U.S. patent and international protection under the Paris Convention. He is also founder of The Seck Group LLC, a real estate investment platform with a portfolio of properties in Los Angeles, California.

His earlier career includes senior leadership in international media, advertising, and brand development — including President and Chief Executive Officer of BCBGMaxAzria Entertainment, founder of Pier Enterprises, Inc. (international advertising and brand campaigns for Ebel and the global music platform for Pepsi International featuring Sony Music recording artists), and strategic advisory engagements including SFX acquisition adviser for Europe and Sony Signatures’ exclusive agent for all intellectual properties in Europe.

Mr. Cohen has spoken at the United Nations Global Compact Leaders’ Summit, the UNECE International Forum on Public-Private Partnerships in Geneva, the International Economic Forum of the Americas (Montreal and Paris), Clean Equity Monaco, the Canada Arab Business Council Business Forum, and the World Future Energy Summit. He is fluent in English, French, and Hebrew, with working knowledge of Arabic and Spanish, enabling direct engagement across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Americas.

TrueSign is the direct application of that operating experience to a different problem set. Thirty years of structuring sovereign-scale transactions — where a single mistaken authorization is measured in hundreds of millions of dollars and where the assumption “the right person clicked the right button” was never adequate evidence — produced the technical and commercial insight behind the patent: the existing global authentication stack proves who the user is, but never what the user actually authorized. TrueSign closes that gap.

Mr. Cohen authored the TrueSign architecture, the canonical intent encoding protocol, the multi-party policy engine specification, the immutable audit ledger design, and the post-quantum migration strategy. He executed the patent assignment to Data World 1, LLC on April 9, 2026, retaining sole inventorship. The company is based at 8383 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 323, Beverly Hills, California 90210. He can be reached at charlesc@dataworldone.com.

“OTP proves who clicked. It does not prove what was authorized. That gap is not a bug in OTP — it is OTP’s definition. TrueSign closes the gap by signing the action itself.”
